About Us
The Organic Council / Le Conseil Biologique de l'Ontario is a membership-based non-profit association representing the organic sector in Ontario at a provincial and national level. The Organic Council of Ontario represents all groups (including producers, processors, marketers, retailers, restaurants, suppliers, distributors, certifiers and others), providing leadership and supporting the continued growth of the Ontario organic sector.
The Council establishes a strong voice for the Ontario organic sector with media, governments and national bodies, including representing Ontario on the Organic Federation of Canada (formerly CORC/CCRB). Each seat on our board of directors represents one sector within the organic industry. Each member will have one vote to elect a representative for their sector on the board of directors; elections are held at our Annual General Meeting in March. Funding for the development of the Organic Council of Ontario was provided in part by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) through the Agricultural Adaptation Council CanAdvance program. The Organic Council of Ontario gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
The Organic Council of Ontario is the only association dedicated to representing the interests of the entire organic sector in Ontario. The Council is committed to supporting and promoting the interests of its members. For more information, or to find out about membership, please contact us.
