OCO Calls for Organic Priorities in the Next Agricultural Policy Framework

Last month, OCO submitted a list of priorities to help inform the Next Agricultural Policy Framework. The Next Policy Framework (NPF) is a five-year (2023-2028) investment by federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) governments of up to $3 billion in funding to strengthen and grow Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector. It will replace the Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), which ends March 31, 2023. OCO’s recommendations are based on the collaborative priorities of Farmers for Climate Solutions and a working group of national and provincial organic associations. However, consultations are ongoing and members are invited to share input by contacting Stuart Oke at any time. Read OCO’s letter to the Minister to learn our high-level priorities and visit Agriculture Canada’s site for more details on the consultation process.
